Litter pick in Much Wenlock

We held the first litter pick following the summer break today. We had our largest turnout so far, including the mayor, Cllr Bert Harper.

Farley Road, Stretton Road, Victoria Road and Bridgnorth Road yielded many bottles, cans and packets and we covered lots of other roads, the car parks and the churchyard. As you can see from this photo of some of the bags, the volume justified us making a big effort to keep the town tidy.

Our efforts were rewarded with a cuppa provided by the lovely folk at Tea On The Square. The next litter pick will be held on Friday 21st October at 10:00am. All are welcome – meet in The Square in Much Wenlock. Further details are available from me or from our very capable organiser, Julian Walker 01952 728082 or walkerhousehold@hotmail.com. We’re very willing to have a blitz on other areas outside the town – if you know of any litter black spots, please let us know.
