Environmental maintenance

Small parishes, especially in the south of Shropshire, have long been accustomed to sorting out ditches, hedges, grass-cutting etc., and have received a grant for this purpose from Shropshire Council. That, of course, is only part of the work parish councils have to carry out to ensure that roads and footpaths are kept tidy. They also have to commission suitably qualified and insured people, usually local, to carry out the work.

At this week’s parish council meeting at Shipton Village Hall, councillors decided to advertise the tender for 2016. If you are interested in this work, or know someone who is, please contact the parish council
