Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan – can you vote?

The Much Wenlock Neighbourhood Plan referendum will take place on 22nd May alongside the European election. The question will be “Do you want Shropshire Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Much Wenlock to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Electors in the parish of Much Wenlock (which is the ‘neighbourhood area’) will be eligible to vote. Applications to be included on the register of electors for this election must be received no later than Tuesday 6th May. If you’re unlikely to be able to get to the polling station and wish to vote, please note that applications for postal votes and proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Shirehall, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND by 5:00pm on Wednesday, 7th May.

Highways resurfacing

The A458 Harley Bank will be closed for re-surfacing of the carriageway and implementing revised road markings and signs from 24th March for two weeks. Through traffic will be diverted along the A4169 to Buildwas and the B4380 to Atcham.

Severn Trent Water is replacing water pipes over the coming months which may cause some disruption. Work on the B4371 to Church Stretton starts on 24th March. The road will be closed at Wall-under-Haywood for two weeks from 7th April. Work on the B4368 to Craven Arms has started and will continue until August. Three-way traffic signals south of Diddlebury may cause some delays.

Flood management – riparian ownership

WatercourseThe responsibility for the maintenance of a stream, brook ditch or culvert rests with the owner of the land through which it passes.  Where an ordinary watercourse forms the boundary of two properties, the maintenance responsibility is usually shared.
