The next meeting will be held in Priory Hall, Much Wenlock at 7:00pm on Wednesday 29th January. Applications for grants will be considered and we will learn about the success of projects which have previously received funding. Further details will appear in the press and posters nearer the time – everyone is welcome.
The independent examiner is seeking clarification from the Town Council on a series of issues in the Plan that were not considered at the October hearing. Until this is resolved the examiner cannot complete his report. This means that the referendum on the Plan will be delayed until the New Year.
Many Much Wenlock businesses will be relying on the Christmas trade in order to thrive. They are working hard to make a success of the festive season, with many shops opening late on Thursday until Christmas. Remember that you can ‘Pop and Shop’ by parking free for a maximum of fifteen minutes in the car parks in New Road, Back Lane, Falcons Court and St Mary’s Lane. If you’re going to park for more than fifteen minutes you must pay the fee from your time of arrival, but this can be as little as 10p at New Road. There is free parking on Sunday.
My first advice surgery of 2014 will be at Much Wenlock museum on Saturday 25th January from 10:30am until midday. I hope to be accompanied by a Town Councillor and a Police representative. Experience at the four surgeries I’ve held so far shows that we can address many local concerns more effectively in this way rather than if I held them alone. Of course, you can contact me at any time if there’s an issue you wish to discuss.
It is six months since you elected me to represent you. In that time I have been able resolve a number of problems that have been brought to me by many local residents. Inevitably there have been one or two that have defeated me, although I’ve tried hard to deal with them. Whether or not you voted for me, I will do my best for you.
With all good wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
