The independent examiner will be holding a hearing into the Neighbourhood Plan on 17th October. This will be held in public, consistent with the open nature of this whole process. It is not a “public meeting” – the examiner has invited the participants – but it is an opportunity for you to see and hear the last stage of this two-year process. If the examiner is satisfied that the Plan meets the legal requirements, it will decided in a referendum for Much Wenlock civil parish.
After thirteen years in Much Wenlock, PC Stuart Lippitt is transferring to Bridgnorth. I thank him for his efforts in our community and wish him well for the future. I have met his replacement Local Police Officer, PC Jane Cowan, and told her about people’s concerns. I am sure that you will see her around the area over the next few weeks.
I wrote to Police & Crime Commissioner Bill Longmore in early July regarding local police coverage in Much Wenlock and Broseley. I received a response stating that he would take a special look at the Chief Constable’s proposals for our large, mostly rural, area. The extent of a police presence locally is a worry to many people.
